Summary

A thought-provoking reminder that true danger lies not in unanswered duʿāʾ, but in achieving worldly success while drifting away from Allah. A Qur’ānic reflection on blessings as a test.

This captured thought was originally uploaded on the previous version of the www.sajidumar.com website on November 4, 2017.

The real fear should never be that our wishes are not fulfilled while we remain dutiful to Allah Almighty.

Rather, the true fear is that we live our dreams, achieve our desires, and experience everything we wish for while actively disobeying Allah Almighty.

To clarify this reality further, reflect deeply upon the following āyah:

Allah Almighty says in Sūrat al-Anʿām, verse 44:

“So when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We opened to them the doors of every [good] thing until, when they rejoiced in that which they were given, We seized them suddenly, and they were [then] in despair.”

Success without obedience is not a blessing; it can be a test, a delay in accountability, or even a path toward ruin if it distances the heart from its Creator.

May Allah forgive us, protect us from heedlessness, and grant us success that draws us closer to Him. Āmīn.
